Day 17 – Mount Yela (4658 m) and the Dry Hot Nu River Valley
July 23. Starting from the cold-wet plateau of Bangda, traversing Mount Yela followed by the famous 72 turns of Nu River descending from 4600 to 2700 meters. There, we entered the hot, dry, and dusty Nu River valley.
Day 16 – As If in Xinjiang
July 22. A pleasant day in the Yu River valley. Soft and bright sunshine, freezing air, mild slope with wind at my back.
Day 15 – 5130 Meters High!
July 21, 2023. Highlight day of the trip, as we are arriving at the highest point of the entire highway—Mount Dongda Pass with an elevation of 5130 meters!
Day 14 – An Extremely Disgusting Uphill: Mount Jueba
At an altitude of 3911 meters, Mount Jueba is definitely not the highest pass along the way, but is widely regarded as the most disgusting and exasperating uphill, if not by all.
Series: Cycling to Tibet
Started from Chengdu, Sichuan with my two friends in early July 2023, we cycled along the 318 National Highway on the eastern Tibetan Plateau, crossing several mountain passes over 4000 meters, and finally reached Nyingchi three weeks later. From there, the journey was continued by train further to Lhasa and Shigatse.

Application of Multi-source Imagery in Landslide Detection — A Case Study of 2018 West Japan Flood. This thesis is mainly about detection of landslides triggered by extreme rainfalls using Sentinel-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar imageries on Google Earth Engine platform.
